We Need More! Volunteerism Today.
For Lay Leaders and Religious Professionals to explore the Changing Patterns of Volunteerism in Congregations
PRESENTERS: Doug Zelinski, Congregational Redevelopment Lead and Hilary Allen, Innovation & Growth Lead
- Do leadership positions in your congregation go unfilled?
- Are cherished activities in your congregation disappearing for want of anyone interested in doing them?
- Are you confounded by the growing indifference of members to the volunteer needs of the congregation?
We invite you to discover ways of revitalizing your membership's commitment to the work of the congregation.
Cultivating Volunteerism in the 21st Century Congregation
Changing demographics challenge churches to re-imagine the role of volunteers in achieving mission and to celebrate volunteering as an inspired act of faith. We will discuss how to:
- Make volunteerism a personal growth experience
- Restructure volunteer tasks to focus on meaningful and inspirational work
- Liberate the energy of collaboration and covenanted community
Revitalizing the spirit of volunteerism will take a team so we encourage as many of your leaders and staff to attend as is possible.
LOCATION: Unitarian Universalist Church of Worcester, MA - located at 90 Holden Street (Directions)
EVENT FEE: $50 per person. If you are coming with a team, the fee is $35 per teammate after four.
While we know that not all individuals are in a position to pay these fees, since the learning is on behalf of the congregation, we assume that congregations will select and financially support participants to come. However, if these fees are prohibitive even to the congregation, please be in touch with us. We do not want cost to keep anyone away.
